#RAK 9 - "Community"

When I pulled the Random Acts of Kindness card, "Get to know someone better by asking them to coffee," I was so excited!

There are so many friends and acquaintances that'd I'd love to know more deeply but fail to make the intentional effort to make it happen!

And I got to experience this RAK in the most fulfilling and gratifying way!

Long story short, as I was leaving my favorite place on earth, the library, a guy walked by me and said "you just radiate joy!" :) And after a brief conversation, we decided we'd find a time to meet up again! Most of the time these brief beautiful encounters die there - and both people go about their lives grateful for the moment but also lackadaisical about following up on the connection.

But a couple weeks later, Phillip sent me a message asking if I could meet up at 10 the next day! I usually can't commit to anything but with my intention being to live out this card's challenge to get to know someone better over coffee, I decided to just say YES! And I'm glad I did.

We talked about everything from faith to plants to our journeys as educators! It was a deep and wonderful conversation that I think fed both of our souls.

Something I'd been praying for recently was community and as Phillip was leaving he looked at me and said, "Orlando, consider me a part of your community." Mysterious and marvelous how this universe answers our deepest longings and yearnings!. :)
