One of the things I wanted to do more of during my 30th year was write more poetry. And leave it to life to bring experiences my way that I could only be reflect on and express via poetry.

Be careful what you ask for...

I am not who you say I am -

I am not who you say I am

You call me sweet

You call me Kind

You call me different from every other guy

But I am NOT who you say I am

You call me mean

You call me manipulative

You call me a lie

You say I’m just like every other guy

But that is a lie because I am not who you say I am

You call me funny

You call me sexy

You say with me time flies by

You call me a different type of guy

But I AM NOT WHO YOU SAY I AM

I AM HUMAN

I AM KIND

I AM MEAN

I MAKE MISTAKES

I AM REAL

I AM FAKE

SOMETIMES I STEAL

SOMETIMES I HEAL

AND SOMETIMES ALL I DO IS WISH FOR ILL

BUT BENEATH ALL OF THAT

I FEEL

SOMETHING SO REAL

Which is

I am you

and you are me

And may we one day be free

SOMETIMES I STEAL

SOMETIMES I HEAL

AND SOMETIMES ALL I DO IS WISH FOR ILL

BUT BENEATH ALL OF THAT

I FEEL

SOMETHING SO REAL

Which is

I am you

and you are me

May we all be free
