***I was on the traditional lands of the Lumbee and Neusiok Peoples***
For Spring Break, I decided to take a trip east and explore some of the State Parks there while is not so hot and humid outside that you melt!
It was a good call! First stop was SEEING THE HOMIE!! Had such a good time catching up with Henry and seeing her new home! So nice having friends that you can pick up where you left off after not seeing each other for a year!
Next stop was Fort Macon State Park! I kinda expected it to be simply a civil war replica site, but it turned out to be SO much more! There were 4 miles of hiking/bike trails and even a couple miles of beach access! :)
Definitely wouldn't be a bad spot to spend a day!
Next, my friend and I took a ferry to Ocracoke Island, which allowed me to cross Hyde County off my list!
I was like a little kid the whole time on the ferry - mouth wide open amazed at the views and at the fact that I could travel across water with my car on a boat!
I'm not the biggest beach person, but Ocracoke is cool! It was nice to be at a beach that wasn't commercialized and where everything is local! Can easily see why this is a special place for so many people!
We camped walking distance from the beach, and I made sure to catch every sunrise and sunset I could!
The seafood was probably my highlight though! I highly recommend Smacknelly's if you ever go!
SOOOOOOOO GOOOOD to see the homie in Carteret County!
Yum! Smacknelli's!
