Spring Break Part III(Pettigrew State Park & Goose Creek State Park, Beaufort County and Ice Cream!)

*** I was on the land of the Lumbee and Secotan Peoples Groups***

To wrap up my Spring Break travels, I went to Pettigrew & Goose Creek State Parks and visited my Big Bro and family in Greenville, NC!

Pettigrew State Park is home to the 2nd largest natural lake in NC, Lake Phelps! The lake felt gigantic and was gorgeous. I loved paddling to the middle of the lake and being surrounded by water as far as my eyes could see!

From there, I traveled to Goose Creek State Park and hiked along a path filled with moss covered oak trees and beautiful views of the Pamlico Sound! The park features 8 miles of nice hiking trails and what looked like some new or renovated cabins for those looking to spend the night.

On my way to my brother's house, I had a taste for ice cream as a way to wrap up my Spring Break adventures. I didn't want to just go to any Dairy Queen to get it and didn't have the energy to look something up! I simply said if I pass by an ice cream spot, I'll stop. Suddenly, I felt an urge to make a right turn that was not on the route my GPS was leading me and ended up right in front of a placed called "Dairy Palace!" Of course I pulled over and had the most delicious ice cream cone! Just another one of those magical moments that happen on the road! :)

So Happy I stumbled upon this place! :)
