***The land Hanging Rock State Park is on is the traditional land of the Saura Native Americans***
Have you ever been on top a mountain and felt like you were in the clouds? Seen a sky that was yellow, orange, purple, and blue? Taken this all in with 2 incredible human beings!? No? Well I got to do all those things on my last trip to Hanging Rock State Park!
If you've never been Hanging Rock State park, you must check out this park located in the Sauratown Mountain Range in Stokes and Surry Counties. There are over 18 miles of hiking trails to numerous peaks and waterfalls as well as a lake where you can swim or boat (when we're not in Covid times). Lastly, if rock climbing is your thing, there are two walls (Moores & Cooks) that you can do your thing on!
Highlights:
- Seeing the sunset with my frands
- Convo up and down the mountain
- Finding the perfect parking spot to get up and down the mountain
Pro-tip: If you're running low on time and want to hike to the summit, hit me up, and I'll let you know the best parking spot!
Two Birds: Hanging Rock State park is in Stokes County, so I can cross that one off the list!
